IAPS AI Policy Fellowship — Summer 2026
IAPS runs a competitive summer AI policy fellowship (June–August 2026) in Washington D.C. or remotely. Fellows work on AI governance projects with dedicated mentorship and policy network access. Late-track applications may still be considered.
Rare paid fellowship at the intersection of AI and policy — direct access to policymakers and think tanks that rarely recruit from technical backgrounds.
The IAPS AI Policy Fellowship is a structured 12-week programme running June 1 – August 21, 2026, placing fellows in Washington D.C. or remotely. Fellows work on defined AI governance and policy projects alongside IAPS researchers and mentors.
Programme structure:
- In-person programming in DC: June 1–12
- Remainder remote-friendly
- Weekly 1:1 coaching sessions
- Access to IAPS policy and research network
- Senior fellows receive higher stipend and more project autonomy
Eligibility notes:
- Must have US work authorisation for the fellowship period
- Remote option available for many international locations
- IAPS cannot sponsor visas
